S2 E11: Spurs Put League on WATCH After NBA Cup Run, Is This Roster Title-Ready? Xmas Rematch vs OKC

Welcome to Season 2: Episode 11 of the Spurs Bros Podcast, the Carter Bryant Episode! We have four games to go through this week, including the NBA Cup Semifinal WIN vs the OKC Thunder and the loss in the Final vs the New York Knicks. Wemby came back and played at an All-World level vs the reigning NBA Champions, and was flanked by Fox, Castle, and Vassell. The four Spurs combined for 89 points in the eye-opening win.

The loss vs the Knicks was a disappointing one, but nonetheless the run sent a message to the rest of the league: the Spurs are here, RIGHT NOW.

San Antonio followed the two games in Las Vegas with two blowout wins vs the lowly Wizards and the middling Hawks (Bums). The team displayed a newfound maturity by not playing with their food and leaving no doubt in the wins. We cover what’s different with this squad now, and what else this team might need (and when) to truly compete for a title.

We end things by discussing Julian Champagnie’s potential contract extension this summer, and by predicting the next 3 games - two of which will be against SGA and the Thunder. Can the Spurs get their first Christmas Day win of the Wemby era??
