Interesting week of ball for Los Spurs, going 2-2 following last week’s incredible wins over OKC. We lost at home to both the Utah Jazz and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Some call it a letdown spot, others a trap game. Whatever you call it, these were two probably unexpected losses after San Antonio put the league on notice last week…
The squad did rebound, however, as Julian Champagnie POPPED OFF for 36 points on 11 three-pointers on New Year’s Eve against the New York Knicks. Wemby had a monster game, but left early with a hyperextended knee (he’ll be fine).
While Victor should be back soon, Devin Vassell picked up an injury in the loss against the Cavs and will be out for a couple weeks. We rounded out the week with a routine win against the league-worst Indiana Pacers, and improved to 25-9 on the year! Firmly in 2nd place in the Western Conference, let’s see how high the Spurs can climb in the standings; they’re climbing in championship odds as well – stay tuned til the end to hear where we’re at right now!
