[00:04:16] if you're a good person you're a good person you voted for the person that you felt is going to

[00:04:23] put you in a better position in life four years down the line now I've always been a proponent of

[00:04:31] government isn't going to be the ones to put you in a position that you want to be in if you really

[00:04:36] want to be in a position that you feel you should be in you have to go out there and you have to do it

[00:04:40] yourself sometimes it's hard to come to that realization because people really are contingent

[00:04:50] on having folks put them in a position that they feel that they need to be in and I don't feel that

[00:04:58] that's fair to anybody to have to put you where you feel you want to be you have to put the work in

[00:05:06] yourself and if you feel that you don't have to put the work in then respectfully you deserve to be in a position that you're in there's no ifs ands or buts about it but when we're talking about this election was it anybody who asked was it anybody who thought that Trump was going to lose like I was like really really think about it like when he decided that he was going to run again was it anybody that's

[00:05:36] thought especially considering how people were

[00:05:43] that was spit by the Democratic Party people were complaining every single day whether it was inflation or whatever it was the cost of living whatever it was people were not happy

[00:06:05] with the direction that this country was going in and they felt that four more years of the same rhetoric wasn't the best thing for them going forward

[00:06:18] this should have been no doubt and it was even more decided after the assassination no matter how much you hate that man or how much you don't look to nasty is it's a technique he was rightfully that that was rightfully taken away from no matter what you feel about him no matter what you feel about his actions after the fact when he lost the 2020 the man rebuilt himself the man got the trust back from him not all that he was

[00:07:08] his base but from his party and he went out there and he did exactly what it is that he does and when I look at the election when I was looking at the results I'm like man this is crazy because it's looking all like 2016 again runs it up in them small rural counties the Trump strongholds like the man really the man really did it and look like I said don't

[00:07:40] no matter how you got it and look like I said don't know how you got it I said don't know how you feel about him you gotta you gotta be impressed by his by the story like it's an impressive story that he has put together now for the other side look Harris has nothing to be ashamed about she didn't have the greatest of time to put together her her strategy it was only what three months even if that

[00:08:11] the fact that she went out there she went out there she competed you know that's that's one thing that everybody asks when we go out there whether it be on the basketball court or whatever the case may be no matter what it is at the end of the day all we want is for somebody to just go out there and compete make it happen make people feel you in the way that

[00:08:35] maybe when you go to the polls you say okay I understand where she was coming from with this and I agree with that and maybe if she is in office maybe I will feel a change it just wasn't her time yet look four years down the line we don't know what's gonna happen we don't know what the we don't even know what's gonna happen right now you know everything is so fluid you know life comes at you fast

[00:09:03] and things can change we are where we are right now so with that being said round of applause to the 47th president of the united states president-elect

[00:09:15] Donald Trump it's crazy but it is what it is but watching the election yesterday it made me think of some of my more memorable election days

[00:09:31] like I remember the first time I voted and this is back in 2008 2008 this is the first time I have I remember just being so hopeful and optimistic you know Barack Obama was on the ballot and I just felt so proud to be an African American member and I was just I was so eager I got up early that morning the atmosphere and the air was just different than what it normally is

[00:10:01] and on any given day and I just remember just going in with so much hope so much optimism and just casting my vote and feeling so proud that I had did something that was going to affect me in more ways than one maybe not affect me in terms of putting money in my pocket but just affect me in terms of understanding that if I really want to go out there and achieve something

[00:10:30] I can go out there and do it like Obama gave me that inspiration 19 year old me walking into the polls and vote that was a great moment for me and then we fast forward to 2016

[00:10:50] I'm a little older now I'm a little older now I'm a little older now I'm a little older now I'm a little older now 8 years now so I'm 27 now I remember walking into the polls and the same energy in the air was still there but the energy was different it wasn't the same type of energy it was a it was like a it was a weird it was a weird energy it was an energy like something crazy is about to happen and we just don't know what it is yet

[00:11:17] I remember voting and I remember just just just just being anxious and curious to know what was going to happen as the as the night progressed in the election results were going to be read and I remember going home and preparing myself to actually watch the presidential election results show CNN and then a mice pops up into my living room

[00:11:48] I don't want you to think that I'm dirty because I'm far from dirty house is clean perfect I just put the smell goods down in the carpet I'm feeling good

[00:12:00] the little baby mice just runs into the kitchen and I'm just like wait a minute what is this

[00:12:09] and that was the beginning of the end in my apartment journey in the city of Detroit

[00:12:16] but those are some of my memorable ones

[00:12:20] and then this year

[00:12:22] same type of energy but you know it didn't have that same flair and pizzazz like the other elections

[00:12:29] what are some of your favorite election day memories

[00:12:32] but now we got the housekeeping out the way let's go ahead let's get straight into this episode

[00:12:39] and we starting off with some locks of the week

[00:12:50] so the NBA season is going on of course

[00:12:53] we are in the midst of the middle of the week of basketball games

[00:12:58] there were no games Tuesday

[00:13:00] due to the election

[00:13:02] but let's talk about last week

[00:13:04] last week I went 4-3 in predictions

[00:13:07] I am currently 5-8

[00:13:10] I don't like being under 500

[00:13:12] this is crazy

[00:13:13] I don't know how I feel about this

[00:13:15] so we're going to go into the remaining week of this week's games

[00:13:21] I do want to stress that I did pick Monday games

[00:13:24] I picked the Suns to defeat the Sixers

[00:13:27] which was factual

[00:13:29] and I picked the Clippers to defeat the Spurs

[00:13:33] which was factual

[00:13:34] so currently 2-0 this week in prediction games

[00:13:39] so we're going to go ahead

[00:13:40] we're going to start over today

[00:13:41] which is Wednesday

[00:13:42] and we're going to take the Pistons

[00:13:44] to defeat the Hornets

[00:13:46] Thursday we're going to go

[00:13:48] the Jazz over the struggling Milwaukee Bucks

[00:13:51] right now

[00:13:51] they are struggling

[00:13:53] yes Utah is struggling as well

[00:13:55] but I got faith in the Jazz

[00:15:29] both of them are

[00:15:33] playing with a lot

[00:15:34] of confidence right now

[00:15:35] but when I look at

[00:15:37] Oklahoma City

[00:15:38] I'm looking at a team

[00:15:40] that is coming

[00:15:41] with vengeance

[00:15:42] this year

[00:15:42] this is a team

[00:15:44] that I felt was going

[00:15:45] to be a team of destiny

[00:15:46] they were a young team

[00:15:47] they were put together

[00:15:48] well

[00:15:49] everything was gelling

[00:15:50] for them perfectly

[00:15:51] they were the best team

[00:15:52] in the Western Conference

[00:15:53] and I felt they were

[00:15:54] going to propel that

[00:15:55] all the way to the

[00:15:56] NBA Championship

[00:15:58] now it didn't happen

[00:15:59] that way

[00:15:59] they were defeated

[00:16:00] by the Dallas Mavericks

[00:16:01] in the second round

[00:16:02] but you can start

[00:16:07] the Oklahoma City Thunder

[00:16:10] now in the offseason
