Untitled project from SquadCast === thepeachbasket_1_01-18-2026_190712: [00:00:00] Week 13 of the 2025-26 NBA season is over, which means it's time to run it back. This is run it back NBA week in review. I'm Jose Salviati, Editor at thePeachBasket.net, and this is the show where we recap the week that was in the NBA by sharing the only objective NBA power rankings. Anywhere the stats stand out. That's the best to do it by average in the week it was. And then we take a look at viral news in the NBA in a segment we call full core press. Finally, we highlight the marquee matchup for the week to come. We start with the only objective overall, top 10 NBA power rankings anywhere. You can read more about how we get to these rankings and see the entire list at thePeachBasket.net Let's take a look at the top 10 at the conclusion. Week number 13, we start by saying that the New York Knicks had a rough week 13, and we won in three, and that cost them a spot in the elite top 10. They dropped from number nine to number 11 and made [00:01:00] way for a new entrant. The shakeup highlights the tight competition in the power rankings as we near the All-Star game. The number 10 team are the Toronto Raptors. They hold steady at number 10 after another solid week. Number 13, maintaining their position from number 10 last week. Consistency keeps them locked in the Miami. Heat burst into the top 10 at number nine this week up from unranked last week. Replacing the slipping nicks, their strong Week 13 Performance signals resurgence. The heat are playing good basketball. Phoenix climbs to number eight for number six last week, capitalizing on momentum to swap places with Houston. Key wins propelled at their ascent and it helps that Devin Booker is back and playing good basketball. Houston slips from number seven to number four, and during a tough week, number 13, that dropped them three spots. Defensive lapses may have contributed to their fall. Minnesota rises from number [00:02:00] six to number five, edging past Boston with balanced play in week number 13. The wolves have got an absolute dominant player in Anthony Edwards, but their depth is really shining through, although they have a big gap at the point guard position. Boston drops from number five to number five, rather from number seven after two in one week. Number 13, losing ground to surging Western teams and some inconsistent offense hurt them. Although they are playing really good basketball, certainly better than anybody would've expected without Jason Tatum. Denver jumps from number four to number eight, surging four spots with dominance and a perfect four oh week in week number 13. And wait till they till they get Nicole Yoki vac. It's scary how good this team has been holding down the fort while he gets healthy. San Antonio remains locked in. Number three, matching their number three ranking from week 12. Steady excellence [00:03:00] defines their hold as well as a pretty phenomenal Victor. Wema OKC stays firm at number two. Unchanged from week number 12, thanks to Relentless. Week 13, execution Day Trail. Only the number one team, and that is. Detroit Pistons. Detroit retains the number one spot steady from number one last week, capping a flawless two and oh week. In week number 13. Their elite play cements NBA dominance, and that is more than enough to keep them at the number one spot at the end of week number 13. That's the objective top 10 list for week number 13. If you wanna see where all 30 teams land this week, please visit the peach basket.net. Now let's shift our focus to the players. These are the best to do it by average in week number 13 in the 2025-26 NBA season, you. These are the best, again, by average in shooting rebounds, assists, blocks, steals points, and game score. Let's start with the [00:04:00] best score. He played two games in week, number 13, and absolutely dominated. He averaged 39 points. That is Anthony Edwards, the top three point sniper is. A surprising name. He played two games and averaged six three point shots made. That's Kawhi Leonard of the surging Los Angeles Clippers, Anthony Edwards also led everyone with 14.5 field goals made on average, the rebounders were dominated by Jusuf Nurkic. ~He played. He played two games and averaged, oh, pardon.~ He only played one game, but he made the most of it. Pulling down 17 rebounds in that one game to lead everybody. Mitchell Robinson played three games and pulled down six offensive rebounders to lead the NBA and Nurkic again in that one game, pulled down 14 defensive rebounds to lead everybody. The top assist guy. Played two games in week number 13. That's Cam Spencer. He averaged 12 to lead everyone. Chet Holmgren was the top rim protector [00:05:00] sending back 3.8 shots over his four games played, and there were four players that averaged three steals, but three of the four only played one game. The only guy who played more than one is Tobias Harris. So he gets the shout out. He averaged three steals to lead everybody in week number 13. Jamal Murray, the guy holding down the fort for Denver until Jokic gets back was the top game score in the NBA for week number 13 at a decent game score of 29 over his three games played. Now as we look ahead to week number 14, the best matchup is undeniably in the East. The Detroit Pistons will host the Boston Celtics. The top two Eastern conference teams will meet, will the Pistons move further away from the pack, or will the Celtics remind the pistons how good they are? That is going to be an absolutely great game. Now we end with [00:06:00] a segment we call Full Court Press, where I ask AI for its thoughts on viral trending press, NBA news as we head into week number 14 and came up with some good ones as it always does. The NBA Europe League push the Kia MVP Ladder shakeup. You got Jalen Brown surging, Nicole Yoki, Shea Luca are always in the mix. All star starters. Starters will be revealed after the Thunder Cavs game on January 19th at 2:00 PM Eastern. And the title picture is Winding. OKC looks vulnerable. You've got a lot of teams, now all of a sudden they'd have a legitimate shot and that's going to think, dictate what we see in the trade deadline. Those are all great topics. What caught my eye was talk of the NBA Euro League. Now you know how soccer is gaining popularity here in the us? Basketball's already there in Europe. What they're missing though, is an NBA type league to showcase their talent. Now, most of the best Europe [00:07:00] talent talent in Europe is coming to the NBA. Now, imagine if the English Premier League, the best soccer league in the world, started a league here in the States, and it wouldn't be long, most likely before the MLS folded. So it's a pretty big deal. It's also an interesting concept in the NBA's ongoing goal for world domination. Here's what we know about the New League. It's a joint venture between the NBA and Feba tentatively targeting a 2027 launch. It'll feature 12 permanent franchises in major cities like London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, and Athens, with plans for 16 teams total, including qualifiers. Now as mentioned, those 16 teams will include 12 permanent spots and four qualifying teams from domestic leagues. It's those four teams that are most interesting. It looks as if those four will change each year or could potentially change each year through a merit-based system functioning similarly to promotion and relegation in European soccer leagues [00:08:00] where performance determines access rather than fixed membership, which is cool. NB. A Commissioner Adam Silver confirmed ongoing progress in meetings with potential stakeholders and media members in January of 2026. So we know this is happening. Reports indicate the NBA is targeting franchise fees of at least 500 million per permanent spot with some speculating that valuation could reach. 1 billion. I imagine that's true for some of the spots, like maybe Madrid, London I could see of getting for one, up to upwards of 1 billion. But honestly, if you happen to have 500 million laying around, that would be a pretty good investment. Commissioner Silver is also busy pursuing domestic expansion in Seattle and Las Vegas with those decisions expected sometime in 2026. The NBA is growing as a fan of the game, wherever you are. That is good news to hear. That's [00:09:00] it. Week number 13 of the 2025-26 NBA season is in the books. Join us again next week after week number 14 when we once again run it back.
